Login
SLM login gives users access to their Safety Lifecycle Manager instance using either Single Sign-On or the standard application login. The available login method depends on how your organisation has configured user access.
SLM supports secure access for different users, teams, and companies by allowing organisations to control how users enter the system. Some users may access SLM directly through Single Sign-On, while others may log in using a username and password.
This guide explains how SLM login works, how to access the dashboard after logging in, how to sign out, and what to do if you forget your password.
What Is SLM Login?
SLM login is the process users follow to access their Safety Lifecycle Manager instance.
There are two main ways to log in:
- Single Sign-On, if enabled by your organisation
- Standard SLM application login using a username and password
The method available to each user depends on the configuration of the company instance and the user account setup.
Once the login process is complete, users are taken into SLM and can begin working from the application dashboard.
SLM Login Using Single Sign-On
If your company has Single Sign-On enabled, users can access SLM without entering a separate SLM username and password.
To log in using Single Sign-On:
- Navigate to your organisation’s SLM instance URL.
- Select the Single Sign-On option.
- Follow your organisation’s authentication process.
- Enter the SLM instance once authentication is complete.
Single Sign-On helps streamline access by allowing users to authenticate using their organisation’s existing identity management process.
This approach can reduce password management effort and provide a more consistent login experience across business systems.
SLM Login with Username and Password
Where Single Sign-On is not configured, users can access SLM using the standard application login.
To log in using the application login:
- Navigate to your SLM instance URL.
- Select the SLM application login option.
- Enter your username.
- Enter your password.
- Click Login.
The username and password must already be configured within the SLM instance before the user can access the application.
If you are unsure which login method to use, contact your internal SLM administrator or support team.
Navigating the Dashboard After Login
After logging in, users land on the SLM dashboard page.
The dashboard provides the starting point for working inside the application and can be customised according to your organisation’s requirements.
Depending on your role and permissions, the dashboard may provide access to:
- Assigned work
- Recently accessed items
- Module shortcuts
- Project or lifecycle information
- Key application areas

How to Log Out of SLM
When you have finished working in Safety Lifecycle Manager, you should sign out of your session.
To log out of SLM:
- Navigate to the top right-hand corner of the application.
- Click the dropdown next to your name.
- Select Sign Out.
Signing out helps protect your account and prevents unauthorised access from shared or unattended devices.
This is especially important for users working with controlled lifecycle information, approvals, or administrative functions.
Resetting a Forgotten Password
If you forget your password, SLM provides a password reset option from the login screen.
To reset your password:
- Select the Forgot your Password link.
- Enter the email address registered to your SLM account.
- Follow the password reset instructions sent to your email.
- Return to the login page and access SLM using your updated credentials.
The password reset process requires the email address associated with the user account in the application.
If you do not receive a reset email, check that the correct registered email address has been used or contact your SLM administrator.
