Non Instrumented Systems
0:06
Welcome to this Application Explainer video, part of our User Modules topic range.
0:11
In this video we’ll cover the subject of Non instrumented systems in SLMSLMS.
0:17
Non Instrumented Systems module includes components or systems that are part of an operational process but lack direct monitoring and automation through sensors or transmitters.
0:28
These systems, such as manual valves, tanks, or structural elements are still critical for process safety, maintenance, and operational efficiency.
0:36
SLM tracks these components to ensure compliance with regulations.
0:41
The following information will be covered in this training.
0:44
How to access the Non Instrumented Systems module and types of components that can be tracked.
0:54
In order to get to the non instrumented systems module, users have to navigate to the module drop down and select non instrumented systems.
1:03
If we now come to the unit level, if we click on the edit tools drop down, we can see a list of all the non instrumented components that can be added.
1:14
So let’s go over the list.
1:16
Blowout panel, chain lock, check valve, earth and secondary containment, flame arrestor, hydro deflector, mechanical over speed trip, mechanical stop for control valve, mechanical stop for damper, open vent, pressure regulator, refractory restriction, orifice, temperature indicating coating, undersized damper, and vacuum breaker.
1:45
All of these components have their independent fields, so users can keep track of specific information for each one of these items.
