SLM-101 Bookmarks

0:07 Welcome to this Application Explainer video, part of our SLM 101 topic range.

0:13 In this video we’ll be covering the subject of bookmarks within SLM.

0:18 Bookmark is a feature used to save application links for future reference.

0:23 Bookmarks save the user and the browser time.

0:27 Bookmarks can be created within each user module in SLM.

0:32 The following information will be covered in this training.

0:35 Chapter one creating a bookmark.

0:37 Chapter 2 is finding a bookmark, and chapter 3 is managing my bookmarks.

0:47 In chapter one, we’ll be covering navigating to any user module, navigating to the section that we would like to bookmark, and clicking on the button Bookmarks in the upper Tool section of SLM.

0:59 To create a bookmark.

1:00 In SLM, we can go to any user module.

1:11 Then we select the object and the view that we would like to bookmark.

1:16 For this example, we’ll bookmark a SIF and we’ll go to the Sealcalc Architecture tab.

1:28 And finally we’ll click on the Bookmark button located on the top toolbar.

1:33 You can see the bookmark was successfully created.

1:41 In Chapter 2.

1:42 We’ll be covering finding My Bookmarks using the accordion panel and finding My Bookmarks on the top toolbar.

1:50 There are two ways to locate bookmarks.

1:52 The first one inside a user module.

1:54 If you come across to this star, in the left hand toolbar you can see a list of all of the bookmarks.

2:06 This particular bookmark was a link to a SIF and the Silk Out Architecture tab within that SIF.

2:12 The 2nd way to locate bookmarks is by toggling the Bookmarks drop down in the top navigation menu.

2:18 Click on My Bookmarks and we can see our bookmark for the SIF here.

2:23 If we simply click the link, it will take us to that bookmark.

2:32 In Chapter 3, we’ll be covering navigating to existing bookmarks and editing and deleting bookmarks.

2:38 In order to manage bookmarks, we need to toggle the bookmark drop down.

2:44 Select My Bookmarks.

2:47 Here we’ll see our current bookmark.

2:54 If we click on the edit icon, we can then attach the custom name to that bookmark, so we’ll have Silcalc bookmark.

3:06 Click Save Changes if you want to see the changes reflected in SLM and see the custom name being used.

3:19 We can come to the star icon and there we can see the custom name that we’ve assigned Silcalc bookmark.

3:27 We can also delete bookmarks by toggling the bookmark drop down, clicking on My Bookmarks, coming across to the delete icon, clicking that and confirming deletion, and then saving changes.

3:52 We then come to SLM and the bookmarks icon.

3:55 In the side menu.

3:56 You can see that our bookmark no longer exists.
